The Onyx Collection offers more bathroom shower bases, and shower pans as “standard size” than anyone else! Choose from 51 different sizes and styles: rectangular, neo-angle, handicap easy access, and tub-replacement shower bases or shower pans.

CUSTOM BATHROOM ONYX SHOWER BASES, SHOWER PANS, AND WALL PANELS

If none of our 51 standard size bathroom shower bases, or shower pans fit your bath design, the Onyx Collection can design and build a custom shower base, shower pan, and walls for your bathroom, including handicap easy access showers and steam showers. Standard Lavatories

The Onyx Collection offers more “standard size” bathroom lavatory sink vanity tops than anyone else! Choose from 43 different sizes and bowl styles: single or double bowl, centered or off-set bowls, and corner lavatory sink vanity tops.

CUSTOM BATHROOM LAVATORIES

If none of our 43 standard size lavatory sink vanity tops fit your bath design, the Onyx Collection can design and build a custom lavatory sink vanity top for your bathroom remodeling needs, including handicap accessible lavatory sink vanity tops. There are additional 66 more lavatory sink vanity top styles to customize from.

STANDARD ACCESSORIES FOR SHOWERS

The Onyx Collection offers various sizes and styles of bathroom shower soap or shampoo caddies, as well as 4 standard-sized shower seats. For custom-sized shower seats, see Custom Slabs.

STANDARD BATHROOM TRIM FOR SHOWERS

The Onyx Collection straight trim comes in many sizes widths and lengths and is often used as window sills or floorboards.

Trim

Accent your bathroom with matching trim, including corner trim, crown molding, chair rail, baseboard, window and door casing, flat trim, tile trim, and other molded trim styles.

Onyx Shower Walls

Onyx Collection Shower Wall Panels are available in various height, color, and design. Panels may come in Gloss Finish, Stone Tile, Subway Tile, Wavy Tile and Shiplap. An Onyx shower wall panel is approximately 5/16″ thick and is a solid color throughout. Each weighs about 3.5lbs per square foot.

Onyx shower panels are easy-to-clean. A common household surface cleaner that we often recommend is just diluted white vinegar. Applicable to Onyx Vanity Tops, too.

WAVY TILE

The Wavy Tile’s actual tile size (not including any grout lines) is 7 ⁷⁄_₈” x 24 ¹/₈” ). The grout lines are 3/16″ wide. Max panel size is 96 ⁷ ⁄_₈” wide by 105 ¹/_₈” tall. Max panel is 4 tiles wide by 13 tiles tall.

The Wavy Tile can run horizontally or vertically.

STONE TILE

Our production mold is made from natural 12″ x 12″ stone tiles, giving each wall panel the stone-tile look without the worry of leaking grout seams. All colors are available in Stone Tile Finish. No Picture Inlays or Integral Stripe/Border available.

GLOSS FINISH

A crowd favorite, the smooth Gloss Finish, gives a classic appearance with an easy-to-clean smooth surface. All colors are available in the Gloss Finish. Also, Inlay Stripes and Picture Inlays can also come in Gloss Finish. Max Panel size is 120″ x 90″

SUBWAY TILE

Subway Tile Finish is a smooth, flat tile design with faux grout lines. The size of the “tile” is 3″ x 9 5/8″ and the 1/4″ wide grout groove is 1/32″ deep.

Subway Tile panels are priced the same as Smooth Gloss, Wavy Tile, and Stone Tile panel finishes. Like all Onyx wall panels, the exposed edges are finished. The grout molding shape is also shown on the finished edge

SHIPLAP

Shiplap is a smooth panel with ¼” wide recessed groove. The spacing between the grooves is 5″.

The max size is 96″ wide and 109 3/4″ tall

TYPES OF CABINETS, DOORS, AND DRAWERS

It’s exciting to choose cabinetry for your new kitchen or bath, but with so many different types of cabinets to choose from, how do you know where to begin?

While it’s great to have choices, it can be overwhelming without a basic understanding of the types of cabinets, doors, and drawers that are available, and how you can use them to make your remodeling dreams come true.

There are three basic types of cabinetry: stock, semi-custom and custom cabinets. Each type provides different advantages depending on your needs and budget. Stock cabinets are at an entry-level price point with limited options. Semi-custom cabinets offer more styles, finishes, and features than stock cabinets, while custom cabinets offer the widest breadth of wood types, finishing options, construction platforms, and modifications.

CABINETS 101 | Framed vs. Frameless Cabinets

When choosing cabinets, there are two types of construction to consider: framed or frameless cabinetry. Both provide endless design possibilities and their own unique advantages. Here are some things to consider as you decide which type of cabinet construction is best for you.

WHAT IS FRAMED CABINETRY?

American cabinet manufacturers have traditionally built cabinets using a framed construction. In this type of cabinet construction, the rails and stiles form a 1-1/2 inch face “frame” at the front of the cabinet box. This frame resembles a flat picture frame that is attached to the door front, giving added dimension to the door front.

WHAT IS FRAMELESS CABINETRY?

Frameless cabinet construction is a European way of manufacturing cabinets that has become popular among American homeowners seeking simple, more contemporary cabinet designs. Frameless cabinetry is sometimes called “full access” cabinetry because it offers greater accessibility by eliminating the face frame. Instead, it relies on thicker box construction for stability. How a cabinet is built determines how it looks and functions. These basics will help you determine what cabinet door construction type is best for you.

Raised panel cabinet doors

Raised panel cabinet doors have a center panel that is raised from the rest of the door, many times with a contoured edge that gives it a specific style. These doors are typically used in more traditional designs.

Recessed or flat panel cabinet doors

Recessed or flat panel cabinet doors have a center panel that is lower than the rest of the door, with a higher outer edge that defines its style. Recessed panel doors are typically used in more modern designs.

Full overlay doors

Full overlay doors cover the entire front of the cabinet box. When two overlay cabinets are viewed side-by-side, only a very small portion of the frame is visible, creating a nearly seamless, streamlined look.

Partial overlay doors

Partial overlay doors cover only part of the cabinet box front, with a small portion left showing, providing a more traditional cabinet look.

Inset cabinet doors

Inset cabinet doors fit inside the cabinet face frame openings, giving a full view of the cabinet frame for a distinctive look that can take on a large range of modifications.

CABINETS 101 | Types of Cabinet Door Styles

Cabinet doors make a big impression in any remodeled room, taking up a significant part of the visual appeal of the space while defining your personal style. They are available with various center panel styles, as well as overlay and inset versions.

Shaker doors

Shaker doors have recessed panels with a simple design.

Arch doors

Arch doors have a raised panel with a half-oval-shaped curve at the top.

Slab doors

Slab doors have a flat panel that is neither raised nor recessed.

CABINETS 101 | Types of Cabinet Drawer Styles

Cabinet drawers are available with a variety of fronts, the most common being five-piece and slab. A cabinet’s drawer front style is determined by the overall cabinet door style that has been chosen.

Kitchen drawer fronts can vary within the room based on the drawer size. For instance, some door styles won’t work on smaller drawer configurations and might automatically call for a slab front. Many brands will offer drawer front upgrades for individual styles. Ask your designer about drawer front options.

When choosing cabinet drawers, here are some key terms to know.

Dovetail joint: An interlocking corner joint where pins on one piece fit into sockets on a second piece.,

Drawer glide: The system used to support the cabinetry drawers and provide opening/closing operation (availability of side and under-mount options vary by brand, as does availability of full- and 3/4-drawer extension).

Quiet Close: A hinge that will softly close the cabinetry drawers while controlling slamming comes standard in many lines, but may also be an option on most drawers. Most of the time the mechanism is integrated into the glides or door hinges, and has an on/off switch.

Five-piece drawer fronts

Five-piece drawer fronts have a four-piece frame around a center panel that is either raised or recessed.

Slab drawer fronts

Slab drawer fronts, sometimes called solid drawer fronts, feature a single flat panel, with no decorative elements, providing a simple and streamlined look.
